I found this funny, so I figured I’d share it. I was browsing Twitter on the first day of the legislative session in Santa Fe when I found out something very interesting. New Mexico’s Governor Susana Martinez has a Twitter account.
However, I found something unusual about it. When you look at the handle @govenormartinez, do you see a problem? My first question I asked is “Does the Governor’s communication staff know how to spell?”
She is proposing a 1.5 % cut in education, yet we see that it is the governor’s official Twitter account. Hours after this was uncovered by several individuals, different variations of the Twitter handle popped up.
So here is a question, “Did she get most of her staff from New Mexico and did they attend New Mexico schools?” Why would you want to cut anything from education when the governor’s own staff has issues with spell check.
As of this afternoon when we looked on Twitter for the governor, her office changed her handle to @gov_martinez.
